This headline accurately describes the reactions, and lack thereof, of governments, institutions, civil societies, and media around the world to the Israeli reaction to the massacre of Israeli men, women, and children by Hamas terrorists on October 7th.

How many reacted to these events underscores the high levels of antisemitism that exists in the world, both as official policies as well as by individuals.

Multilateral institutions such as the United Nations and its agencies including the U.N. Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), the World Health Organization (WHO), and UN Women, as well as the International Society of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies have shown their true antisemitic roots throughout.

The Red Cross refused publicly to visit Israeli hostages in captivity in Gaza, to take them medicines, and to help ensure their well-being. This parallels the Red Cross’s behavior when its officials visited Nazi concentration camps in the 1940’s and willfully ignored the barbarities taking place during the Holocaust.

U.N. Secretary General Antonio Guterres minimized his condemnation of Hamas while maximizing his criticism of Israel’s reaction. Extensive video coverage by Israeli forces demonstrates that UNRWA has been an active supporter of Hamas in Gaza. Moreover, testimony from released hostages indicates that UNRWA has played and is playing a central supporting role in assisting Hamas with the Israeli hostages kidnapped, tortured and murdered on and after October 7th.

Guterres and his officials have yet to address these developments publicly and state why UNRWA has supported Hamas in promoting its policies of hatred towards Jews and Israel through the schools it provides in Gaza. He has yet to explain why UNRWA has 30,000 employees in Gaza alone, whereas the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees has only 18,000 employees world-wide.

As well, he has yet to explain why, under the watchful eye of the UN, the leaders of Hamas were allowed to divert international aid to line their pockets, build tunnels and buy weapons, and why they are still diverting aid from the people

UN Women took over a month before it grudgingly condemned the violet rapes, mutilations, and killings of women and babies by Hamas during its attack. The Agency still has to announce if it will investigate Hamas’s crimes as the U.N. system regularly condemns Israeli actions.

When Arab or Muslim states inflict death and suffering on other Arabs or Muslims, the rest of the world remains quiet. But when Israel exercises its right to fight back after repeated attacks, the world’s antisemitism rears it head and drives international reactions.

Indeed, the regime of Bashir Al Assad in Syria has murdered over 500,000 Syrian Arabs during the current civil war. Yet he was received as a hero at the Islamic Summit in Saudi Arabia in October that met to discuss the Israeli response to the terrorist attack.

Yemenis have slaughtered each other for the past few years with no street demonstrations anywhere. Indeed, as the Houthi terrorists of Yemen state in their emblem “…death to Israel, damnation to the Jews, and victory to Islam”, crowds in various cities were chanting their support for Houthis, who are supported fully by Iran.

Iran has slaughtered protestors since the revolution of 1979 and, lately women and young girls have been the victims of horrific violence and death for demanding the end of the forced wearing of the hijab.

India is determined to create a Hindu state by eliminating its Muslim minority, while Pakistan has deported or is deporting 1.7 million Afghans back to a country where they will face prison or death.

Western governments have reacted to the Hamas attack and subsequent demonstrations of support for the terrorist group in a mixed fashion.

France and Germany have announced strong measures against pro-Hamas demonstrations and violence, including prison sentences and deportations.

Other countries, however, have been weak.

The Canadian government has refused to act against pro-Hamas demonstrators waving ISIS and Palestinian flags, blocking key traffic arteries, and attacking and threatening Jews and Jewish institutions. Yet police in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal have forced back Canadians carrying the Canadian flag in protest to the Hamas inspired marches. The same has happened in the United Kingdom and the U.S.

The media have not been any better.

BBC, CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation), CTV (Canadian Television Network) among others refused for the longest time to refer to the Hamas attackers as terrorists.

Formerly prestigious media such as the New York Times and Washington Post were quick to blame a rocket attack on a Gaza hospital as Israeli in origin, only to have it proven that the missile was in fact launched by Hamas. It took leaders like Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his hapless foreign minister Melanie Joly many days to begrudgingly acknowledge this fact even though the proof was there for the asking.

Civil society is also complicit.

Gays for Palestine seem to forget that in Palestine gays are tortured, imprisoned, or executed as they are in much of the Muslin world. Feminist groups seek to forget the sad plight of women in the Arab world, where they are little more than chattel and where animals seem to have more rights.

So-called Progressives forget that Hamas took the tens of billions of dollars in international aid that Gaza has received over the past 17 years have gone to building a terrorist infrastructure rather than hospitals, schools, and a modern economy where people could live in peace and dignity. All under the watchful eye of the UN agencies.

Where are the major street demonstrations when Muslims visit death upon other Muslims? Where are the mass civil society marches? Where is the media?

Nowhere to be seen.

No Jews, no news.
